YET ANOTHER status yellow weather warning for rain has been issued for Carlow, with Met Éireann warning that there is a potential for more flooding.
The alert will come into effect from 11pm on Tuesday and will stay in place for 24 hours.
The weather alert has also been issued for Waterford, Cork, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow and Dublin.
"Rain falling on already saturated ground combined with high river levels will lead to flooding, poor visibility, and difficult travelling conditions," Met Éireann warned.
This new weather warning comes as Carlow and surrounding counties continue to feel the aftereffects from flooding caused by Storm Chandra over two weeks ago.
In addition to the yellow weather warning for rain, a status yellow wind warning has been issued for Wexford, Wicklow, Dublin, Meath and Louth, which is valid from 11pm on Tuesday to 1pm on Wednesday.
“Strong and gusty southeasterly winds combined with high tides may lead to wave overtopping, fallen trees and loose debris, and difficult travelling conditions,” Met Éireann warned.
A separate status yellow rain/snow warning has been issued for Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo, which will come into effect from 2am on Wednesday.
