Ahead of the Irish Champions Festival – which includes racing at the Curragh Racecourse – professional Irish driver Max Hart has driven alongside a galloping Thoroughbred racehorse, ridden by classic-winning jockey Chris Hayes.

It’s a visually stunning display of automotive and equine power.

“We aim to make this Champions Festival Day at the Curragh on Sunday 15 September the biggest garden party this year in the country with something for everyone, both young and old spread out over four acres,” said Ruth Norton from the Curragh Racecourse.

As well as world class racing on the track with horses coming from all around the world we’ll also have a Formula One simulator off the track for the first time. Musically we have we’ll have music, bands creating a fabulous atmosphere as well as fun activities, treasure hunts and playgrounds for the children all across our campus. Details of the big day at the Curragh Racecourse can be seen on www.curragh.ie.” The Irish Champions Festival is the showcase of the Irish Flat season and one of the leading international flat racing festivals.

Now in its ninth year, this special event is run over two days at two of Ireland’s leading racecourses – Leopardstown on 14 September and The Curragh on the 15 September.

Featuring prize money of €4.5 million, this year’s renewal boasts a strong programme, including six Group 1 races and the final Classic of the Irish Flat season.
