Head of economic development and enterprise at Carlow County Council’s Local Enterprise Office Kieran Comerford said the “quality, innovation and passion” shown by the shortlisted producers highlights Carlow’s growing reputation as a “leading food county.” “Participation in these awards provides a valuable platform to showcase the very best of Carlow to a national audience and highlights the important contribution that our food sector makes to the local economy, rural communities and the county’s wider tourism offering,” Mr Comerford said. “We wish all of the entrants every success and commend them for being outstanding ambassadors for Carlow,” he added.
