COLÁISTE Eoin, Hacketstown was bursting with talent, energy and entertainment recently when the school staged its much-anticipated Lip Sync extravaganza.
Despite taking place four weeks earlier than usual, the standard of performances certainly did not suffer. Audiences were treated to two fantastic evenings of music, dance, comedy and entertainment, showcasing the incredible talent, creativity and enthusiasm of the entire school community.

This year's production was particularly ambitious, with students from every year group, alongside members of staff, coming together to take part. Organising such a large-scale event was no small undertaking, particularly with a shorter preparation period, but the dedication and commitment of everyone involved ensured that the show was a tremendous success.

The event also formed an important part of the school's wellbeing programme, with some allocated wellbeing time used for rehearsals and preparation. Beyond the excitement of performing on stage, Lip Sync provided students with a wonderful opportunity to build confidence, develop friendships, work as part of a team and strengthen their sense of belonging within the school community.

The excitement began earlier in the week when pupils from local primary schools were invited to attend a special performance free of charge, giving younger members of the community an opportunity to experience the talent and enthusiasm of Coláiste Eoin students first-hand.

At the heart of this year's production was an exceptionally talented and dedicated team â huge tribute to Ms Nessa O'Meara and the wonderful mother and daughter duo Caoimhe and Deirdre Byrne, whose creativity and countless hours of hard work were instrumental in bringing the entire production together.

Special recognition must also go to Ciarán Fitzgerald and Pádraic Connelly, whose expertise in lighting and sound helped transform the performances into a truly professional and memorable spectacle.
From the performances to the imaginative costumes, choreography and enthusiastic audience participation, the atmosphere throughout the event was electric. The commitment shown by students and staff alike was a wonderful reflection of the positive school spirit that makes Coláiste Eoin such a special place.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of Lip Sync 2026, including the organisers, performers, backstage helpers, school staff, families and the wider community for their tremendous support.

Most importantly, congratulations to all the students who stepped outside their comfort zones, embraced the challenge and gave their all on stage. Their enthusiasm, teamwork and talent were the real stars of the show.

Lip Sync 2026 may have arrived four weeks early, but it certainly delivered a performance worth waiting for.
