A NUMBER of companies willingly rolled up their sleeves and got to work recently to support a much-appreciated and valued service in the local community.

Volunteers led by CBRE and supported by MSD Ireland (Carlow), Suir Engineering Ltd, Robert Quinn Ltd and Bidvest Noonan arrived at Little Orchard Community Crèche in Leighlinbridge as part of a ‘Blue Skies’ initiative, which encourages companies to support their local communities with real and practical support.

More than 30 people from the different companies came together on the day to complete activities from a wish list presented by the crèche. These activities followed weeks of planning and included landscaping, carpentry, painting, cleaning and general tidy up.

The wonderful work is a great support to the crèche as it continues to provide an excellent service to the local community.
The atmosphere on the day was incredible, with people happy to help and delighted to be part of something so impactful for the many people who enjoy Little Orchard Community Crèche on a daily basis.

“A great and productive day was had by all involved,” said Anna O'Toole, early years assistant manager.
Little Orchard is a purpose built community childcare centre, which opened its doors in October 2007. It is conveniently located adjacent to Leighlinbridge Parish Centre and Church.
The centre itself is quite unique being based in the old parochial house, a period house which dates from c.1780 which has been restored to provide a state of the art childcare centre. Little Orchard Community Crèche welcomes babies, wobblers, toddlers, playschool, and pre school and afterschool, catering for children from three months to five years and afterschool age up to 12 years.
