The defendant pleaded guilty to threatening to kill his sister and of assaulting her boyfriend
A MAN who was described as “having a long history of complications in his life” pleaded guilty to threatening to kill his sister and to assaulting her boyfriend when he appeared before Carlow Circuit Court last week.
Marcus Hannon, 7 Frederick Avenue, Athy Road, Carlow was arraigned before Judge Eugene O’Kelly on the first day of the current sittings of the circuit court last Tuesday, 18 February. Mr Hannon pleaded guilty to threatening to kill his sister and of assaulting her boyfriend at that address on 13 March 2024.
Richie Downey BL told Judge O’Kelly that the case had a “complicated background” and that there was a “long history of complications” in Mr Hannon’s life.
He added that his client was in custody on these matters and asked for the preparation of a probation report, a psychological report and a prison governor’s report to be prepared before sentencing. Judge O’Kelly agreed and adjourned proceedings until 6 March, when the matter will be finalised.
