AN electrician who used his pass card to enter a business to steal copper wiring was last week convicted and fined in Carlow District Court. Keith McNabb pleaded guilty to the burglary of Central Engineering Ltd, O’Brien Road, Carlow on 19 September last year.
Sergeant James Kearney told the court that Mr McNabb (53) used a pass card to enter the premises on a “number of occasions” and that he stole €150 worth of copper wiring.
Solicitor Alex Rafter said that his client had seen it as “an opportunity to make a few bucks” and that he was “deeply ashamed” of what he’d done. He added that Mr McNabb of Castlelyon Green, Rathcoole, Dublin had no previous convictions, had never been in trouble before and that he “did not want a blot on his copy book”.
Recognisances were fixed when Judge Geraldine Carthy convicted and fined Mr McNabb €650.
