CARLOW County Council has issued further updates on the risk of flooding and road closures due to flooded and damaged roads.
There is relatively good news regarding river levels, as the water levels on the River Burren and Barrow continue to drop, with continuous over pumping no longer required; however, standby crews continue to monitor the situation.
In relation to roads, the council says this issue is now “of serious concern”, as people return to school and work after the bank holiday weekend.
The council is appealing to people not to pass any road closed signs, with the update stating that a number of roads have been significantly damaged and are impassable.

Crews are on route to assess issues on Glynn to St Mullins (section of the regional road, traffic lights will likely be used here to bring traffic to one way to manage section of failure)
