College of Music concert raised over €2k for hospice

THE WONDERFUL talent of students from Carlow College of Music was put to excellent use recently when they raised a terrific €2,132.72 for County Carlow Hospice.

Carlow College of Music recently held its uplifting Christmas concert ‘A Time of Wonder’ in St Mary’s Church, Carlow, featuring performances from the college’s various ensembles, including Carlow Youth Orchestra, The Staves, No Strings Attached, SingAloud and various soloists. The concert raised a fantastic €2,132.72, which was recently presented to the hospice committee.

“As chairman of County Carlow Hospice, I’d like to thank Majella Swan for hosting a concert in St Mary’s Church on Saturday 8 December called ‘A Time of Wonder’ in aid of the hospice,” said chairman Paul Doogue.

“Thanks to all who came and supported Majella and all the wonderful musicians and singers. What a great night it was,” he added.
