The festival, which launched its highlights programme yesterday, will have talent from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Brittany, Cornwall and the Isle of Man, with a packed schedule of performances and competitions.

“Pan Celtic Festival 2025 is a wonderful opportunity for people from all over the Celtic nations to come together and celebrate our shared cultural heritage,” said Bríde de Roiste at last week’s launch event. The five-day celebration will kick off on Tuesday 22 April with an opening concert at the George Bernard Shaw Theatre in Visual, followed by an informal gathering in the grounds of Carlow College.

A colourful parade through Carlow town on Friday 25 April will display national costumes and flags from all six Celtic nations, followed by a Streetfest on Tullow Street.

One of the most anticipated events is the Pan Celtic International Song Contest on Thursday 24 April, where national winners from each Celtic nation will compete for a €1,500 grand prize.
