A CARLOW man has co-written a new song in anticipation of Ireland’s 2026 World Cup playoff game against Czechia, with all proceeds going to the National Maternity Hospital Foundation, Holles Street.
Lifelong FAI season ticket holder and host of the horse racing podcast Barry Doyle from Bagenalstown, was inspired to put together the song, titled following Troy Parrott’s late heroics in Budapest in November.
Barry co-wrote the song with Dundalk native Neil Durnin, with the duo taking inspiration from Brian Warfield’s song . The music video was filmed at Murray’s Bar, Ballymurphy and was produced by Davy Boland of .
Barry and his wife Emma, who met each other while supporting the boys in green at the Euros in France in 2016, know first hand the work that the National Maternity Hospital Foundation does, as their son Theo spent some time in the neonatal intensive care unit at Holles Street shortly after his birth.

Thanks to the excellent care he received at Holles Street, Theo is now thriving.
The foundation raises vital funds for Holles Street hospital, with a focus on advancing women's and neonatal health through funding, research and innovation. Funds raised help to invest in research, vital equipment and technology in the hospital to support the work of the care teams and support services caring for mothers and babies at the hospital 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
“We had a great time putting this together,” said Barry. “My family will be forever grateful to the staff and medics at the National Maternity Hospital. After one of the most memorable Irish football results in Budapest, Neil and I thought it was the perfect opportunity to get behind the boys in green with a song building up to the playoffs in March and the World Cup itself, fingers crossed!” he added.
