ROSE Kavanagh was a “legend, inspiration, an institution and lady”, mourners were told by her daughter Sandra at her requiem Mass last week. The mother-of-six died on Saturday 26 July. She turned 91 years’ old last November.

COLETTE MAHER was born in Milford Station, Carlow and was raised there with her beloved sister Ange. She went to school in St Leo’s College, Carlow, where she developed a great love of the piano and music, under the tutelage of the sisters.

The US actor was also known for his portrayal of Jim Morrison in 1991 film The Doors.
