Graham wins award for his Kilbride farm as one of leading beef suppliers

KILBRIDE cattle farmer Graham Kavanagh has been recognised as one of the leading beef suppliers in the country after receiving the Suckler Heifer Benchmark Award from ABP at Tullamore Show on 9 August.
The award acknowledges farmers who have demonstrated excellence across beef, dairy beef, dairy steer, organic and lamb supply categories.
Graham, who farms 180 acres on the Carlow-Wexford border alongside his father Pat, his wife Adrienne and their three sons Daniel, Donnacha and Diarmuid, runs a closed herd of 100 Limousin cows and heifers.
ABP Ireland managing director Jason Aherne said the awards are an important opportunity to recognise the quality, professionalism and commitment of the processor’s farm suppliers.
“The standard represented by this year’s winners is exceptional and reflects the care, expertise and consistency that underpin Irish beef production. We are proud to work with farmers who continue to set high standards across animal performance, sustainability and supply chain excellence,” Mr Aherne said.
The presentation at Tullamore Show marks the first time farmers and their families have been brought together by ABP and Irish Country Meats to celebrate their contribution to farming efficiently and sustainably.
