Carlow land sells for over €25,000 per acre

A recent auction showed the demand for farmland in Carlow with an auction yielding €25,609 per acre.
Joe Coogan Auctioneer offered circa 41 acres for sale at Ballinaboley, Leighlinbridge, Co Carlow earlier this month.
The lands are presently in tillage and there were three very active bidders.
Bidding commenced at €700,000, with 49 individual bids from two local auctioneers and one solicitor. The lands sold for €1,050,000.
This and other recent auctions indicate that the level of interest and demand.
The auction was held at his auction room Ballycomey House, Castlecomer, Co Kilkenny with a good attendance on the day.
