RATHANNA Annual Village Day proved another success as large numbers of local residents and visitors enjoyed glorious sunshine for a day packed with entertainment, community spirit and family fun.
More than 20 stalls offered an impressive selection of food, handmade crafts and artwork, giving those in attendance an opportunity to support local businesses, artists and community groups.
Proceeds from the day were presented to deserving charities and organisations following the event. Donations of €1,000 each were made to Miriam Murphy from Holy Angels Day Care Centre and Lorna McGrath from Éist Cancer Support Centre.

Further donations were also presented to local organisations in recognition of their ongoing contribution to the community, with Borris Men’s Shed, Rathanna Village Group and the 3rd Carlow Borris Scout Group all acknowledged for the valuable role they play in community life.

The committee also expressed its appreciation to all the volunteers and sponsors whose hard work and generosity helped make the event a success.
They also acknowledged the generosity of local farmers, many of whom provided the use of their land for event activities and car parking throughout the day.
