Ger Proctor with Fr Jim O'Connell and Seamus Hogan
The people of Rathoe and surrounding area paid a special tribute to Ger Proctor, Castlemore, who retired as postman in the Rathoe postal area recently after 32 years’ service.
On Friday 13 September, a retirement party was held in the local hall, where a large gathering paid warm tributes to the man who had delivered their letters and parcels with a smile and a friendly word for more than three decades.
Noel O’Connor acted as MC and, while adding his own appreciation, wished Ger many happy and healthy years in retirement.
Fr Jim O’Connell, Adm and Seamus Hogan made a presentation on behalf of the community. The night was sponsored by Rathoe Hall committee and Fighting Cocks GFC.
