Ballon magazine is packed full of interesting articles

FROM catching up with local organisations and sporting clubs to remembering times past and acknowledging the contributions of so many – it’s all there in
.The seventh edition of the magazine is just out and is packed full of community news featuring a wide range of articles highlighting the events of 2024. Among the highlights is an article on the Reddy family homeplace written by Cathy Reddy, which also features on the cover of the magazine.
The much-talked-about felling of the trees at Rathoe Church, articles from both Ballon and Rathoe national schools, the great work of Macra na Feirme on its 80th anniversary and the activities of popular organisations such as Ballon ICA, Aghade Mothers’ Union and Ballon Improvement Group are all included.
“This magazine could not have been published without a huge collaborative effort from very willing and able contributors and supporters,” said Breeda McDonald and Fidelma Joyce, the editorial team.
“We would like to sincerely thank all our contributors and everyone who gave us precious photographs – without you, this magazine would not exist. A special word of thanks to Michael Dawson, Bernie Mullins, Eileen Murphy and John McDonald for their help.
