Madonna and Kylie Minogue team up for surprise WorldPride performance

Madonna was joined by Kylie Minogue for a surprise performance at WorldPride.
Last month Madonna, 67, released her 15th studio album, Confessions II, which she has been launching at Club Confession events around the world.
After doing so in Los Angeles, London, New York City and Paris, she confirmed this week she’d be doing the same in Amsterdam, with the city also currently hosting WorldPride.
However, during her set early on Sunday morning, she was joined for part of it by fellow pop star Minogue, 58.
The pair performed Love Sensation, a track from Confessions II together, with Minogue later also sharing a post on Instagram sharing a behind-the-scenes look at her surprise appearance.
The clip showed Minogue dancing backstage before getting on with Madonna and dancing and singing with her, while the crowd was also covered in confetti at one stage.
Tagging Madonna, whose full name is Madonna Louise Ciccone, she captioned the post: “Thank you everyone at Club Confessions World Pride Amsterdam.”
The pair previously performed together during Madonna’s Celebration tour at a show in Los Angeles in 2024.
Earlier in the week Madonna had teased her appearance, sharing a post online in Dutch which read, “IK HEB IETS WAAR IK OVER WIL PRATEN”, which translated into English is: “I’ve got something I wanna talk about.”
Ahead of her latest album’s release, Madonna sat down for an interview with Graham Norton, in which she admitted to once being jealous of Minogue.
During a segment of the interview in which Minogue appeared, the American singer told the Australian performer she was once “a little bit jealous” of her.
She continued: “Se was so cute.
“I think my ex-husband at the time (Guy Ritchie) had a crush on her, and I was like, ‘I’ll never be as beautiful as Kylie’.”
Following Confessions II’s release, it topped charts around the world, including in the United Kingdom, United States and Australia.
Madonna also became the first US female artist to earn a number one album across five decades.
Ahead of its release she also staged a surprise pop-up concert in Times Square, New York City, to kick off Pride Month.
During the six-song set, Madonna hits from the 2005 album and previewed new tracks from its forthcoming follow-up.
Last month she also kicked off the World Cup’s first half-time show, performing a remix of her 2000 track Music and her new song Danceteria.
