Kim Kardashian shares unseen Met Gala photos ahead of fashion’s biggest night

Kim Kardashian has shared behind the scenes photos of some of her most famous Met Gala looks ahead of fashion’s biggest night.
The first Monday in May sees the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York filled with some of the biggest stars in the world, to celebrate the opening of the Costume Institute’s spring exhibition.
Reality star and entrepreneur Kardashian, 45, has been a regular at the annual event, hosted by Dame Anna Wintour, for more than a decade.
Ahead of the 2026 instalment, she shared previously unseen photos of some of her most famous looks, including she dress she wore to her first Met Gala when she was heavily pregnant with daughter North.
In 2013 she wore a floral high-neck, long-sleeved gown with a thigh-high split by Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy.
In a gallery of photos on Instagram, she shared a picture of her in the dress cradling her bump, but without the striking hair and make up she sported to the event.
She also shared a snap of a fitting with designer Alber Elbaz for the custom, strapless navy blue satin Lanvin gown, designed by Elbaz, she wore for the Charles James: Beyond Fashion themed gala in 2014.
Also included was a photo of her with Olivier Rousteing, who designed the silver Balmain gown she wore in 2016.
Another photo shows her surrounded by her team getting ready in 2021, wearing a black tight-fitting Balenciaga bodysuit that covered her entire body and face.
Yet another showed finishing touches being put on her 2022 outfit, when she sparked controversy for wearing the dress Marilyn Monroe donned in 1962 to sang Happy Birthday, Mr President to John F Kennedy.
Kardashian also posted a number of photos of her in the outfit she wore in 2025, a custom, all-black two-piece set by Chrome Hearts, which featured a croc-embossed leather corset top with a matching skirt and train, paired with a black leather “witch hunter” hat, which covered most of her face.
She captioned the gallery: “Year 13 loading…”
The theme of the gala is Costume Art, named after the museum’s new exhibition.
