Gary Lineker celebrated Harry Kane equalling his England World Cup goals record during their World Cup victory over Croatia.

In a video posted on X by Netflix, Lineker can be seen leaning forward in anticipation before pumping his fist in the air in celebration after Kane found the net.

Kane’s second goal saw him join the 65-year-old in scoring 10 World Cup goals, the joint-highest tally by an England player in history.

The pivotal goal, which restored England’s lead, prompted Lineker to raise both hands in the air and chant “10, 10, 10”.

The sports broadcaster is currently filming his podcast – The Rest is Football – for Netflix in the United States.

Lineker was among many high-profile figures supporting the national team during their 2026 World Cup debut.

Ahead of the match, singer Robbie Williams shared a video to his Instagram story explaining that he was teaching his eldest daughter, Teddy, some chants ahead of the game, and filmed the pair singing “where’s your father, referee?”.

The former Take That star then shared a snap in an eccentric, bright blue ensemble covered in pictures of British ice creams while standing next to a television.

British prime minister Keir Starmer took to X to congratulate the team on their win, writing: “A fantastic result against Croatia and a performance to be proud of. On to the next one.”

Joining in the festivities, Piers Morgan congratulated a “great win by England with so many top performers” in a post on X, adding he thought Harry Kane was “immense from start to finish”.

Olly Murs, known for hits including Troublemaker and Dear Darlin’, posted a photo alongside his wife Amelia and their young children as the family expressed their excitement ahead of the game.

The singer-songwriter wore a matching bucket hat with one of his children, which read “it’s coming home”, while his wife donned a football shirt which said “mummy” on the back.

Roxy Whitehall, who recently tied the knot with comedian Jack Whitehall, shared a snap of her T-shirt which read “teach me the offside rule x”.

TV presenter Jeff Brazier posted a photo wearing an England shirt posed with his fist in the air, and reality star Amy Hart shared a snap of her sons Stanley and Dexter wearing England pyjamas.

Actress and TV presenter Amanda Holden shared a snap in an England football kit and bucket hat while sitting in her car, which was decorated with matching flag bunting.

TV personality Scarlett Moffatt shared snaps wearing an England shirt while flaunting her growing baby bump, and during the game she added that her “baby boy is kicking like mad – think he can tell I’m excited”.

Former Love Island stars Alex Bowen and Casey O’Gorman shared a video excitedly reacting to England’s two goals in the first half of the match, as the pair were silently jumping around the room with joy.

“CMONNNNNN ENGLAND. Kids are asleep so muted celebrations,” Bowen wrote beneath the clip as he justified their excited whispering throughout the video.
