Carlow’s Myshall Camogie Club hosted the inaugural Olivia ‘Oli’ Jordan Memorial Tournament on Saturday, with all the proceeds going to the Éist Cancer Support Centre.

Based in Carlow Town, Éist offers emotional support and practical help to anyone affected by cancer.

Ms Jordan, from Ballon, was a bedrock of the Myshall club where she served as a player, an inspirational coach and eventually a committee member.

She sadly passed away in January of 2024 leading her club to create the U10 Go-Games Blitz “in memory of a much loved and missed friend", with each club playing three matches.

Myshall were joined for the tournament by fellow Carlow club Mount Leinster Rangers, as well as Wexford club Oulart/The Ballagh, and Kilkenny clubs Barrow Rangers, Tullaroan and Black and Whites – with the latter featuring young player Grace Nolan, a niece of the late Ms Jordan.

“A heartfelt thank you and huge well done to all the visiting teams,” organisers said, “who joined us today to honour the memory of our beloved teammate, Oli. The girls treated us to a fantastic and highly enjoyable display of camogie, filled with skill, determination and sportsmanship.

“A special thank you to every member of our own club - our amazing players, dedicated parents, hardworking committee, and wonderful supporters - for making today so special and meaningful.

"Your efforts and support helped to create a fitting tribute to Oli and ensured the first Olivia ‘Oli’ Jordan Memorial Tournament was a day to remember.”
