Bagenalstown-based trainer Jack Foley had a winner on the second day of the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby weekend at the Curragh, landing the Fitzpatrick's Garage Group Handicap over six furlongs.

Ridden by Billy Lee, Midnight Dusk went off at 11/2, made almost all and pulled away impressively inside the final furlong to win by over three lengths.

It was Midnight Dusk’s second win in June after a fine display at Fairyhouse earlier this month.

The horse is owned by point-to-point specialist Donnacha Doyle, who Foley has teamed up with to good success since turning to training in 2025 after injury cut short a promising riding career.

Foley, whose grand-uncle Tom trained Danoli, recorded his first winner as a trainer in Dundalk late in 2025 with Liberation Date. That horse ran at the Curragh on Friday evening and holds an entry in the 5.15pm race there on Irish Derby day.
