Very National Camogie League Division 2A

Offaly 3-10

Carlow 1-5

Grace Teehan was the difference between the sides scoring 3-5 of the Offaly total in their relatively comfortable camogie National League Division 2A contest in Banagher on Saturday.

Wearing number 13 but performing in a central role, she scored the opening point and then attacking down the right, space opened up for her and she easily found the Carlow net. The visitors proceeded to struggle with Teehan scoring a second goal before the Barrowsiders finally got on the board with a Caoimhe Coady point. While Eleanor Treacy converted a free for Carlow, Offaly led 2-7 to 0-2 at the interval.

In the cold conditions, the 11-point lead gave Carlow a mountain to climb which was never likely. Teehan completed her hat-trick early in the second half. Carlow did get a foothold late on and were rewarded with a Sarah Sheehan goal which took the bare look off the scoreline.
