DKIT won 6-5 on penalties
This was a thrilling HE Division 2 senior league semi- final at DKIT tonight with the home side turning around the group result. The teams were tied at 0-15 to 1-12 at the end of normal time with Adam Fanning scoring a 55th minute goal for SETU.
It was level after 70 min as Hugh Butterly scored a home goal and Carlow replying immediately through Ben Corkery (1-16 -2-13).
A Hugh Corcoran late free saved Dundalk IT but even there the drama continued with the sides tied at 4-4 on penalties. Sudden death decided the issue with DKIT netting one penalty out of 2 and their opponents failing to beat DKIT keeper, Daire O'Shea on two occasions.
