Palatine pull clear of Tinryland in the second half

Palatine's Josh Egan tries to escape the clutches of Tinryland's Maurice Lawler.
After a close opening half, Palatine emerged easy winners from this senior football championship group 1 round 2 game at Netwatch Cullen Park on Sunday.
Highlight of the first half were the two two-pointers from Shane O’Neill where he was on target from a placed ball and another from play. With a brace of points from Ciaran Moran, Palatine led 0-8 to 0-4 at the interval. Cormac O’Brien, was Tinryland’s most lively forward scoring one point and involved with much of what his side did well.
Two Conor Crowley points for Palatine early in the second half were cancelled out by a Tinryland goal who converted a penalty after Paddy Regan was fouled. The eventual winners hit back and James Cranny beat his mark and squeezed the ball inside the left-hand post.
The competitiveness faded out of the contest from there as Palatine annexed their second win out of two which cements their place in the knock-out stages.
