Palatine were in great form on Sunday morning as they claimed the U14 Division 1A title. They dominated the game for large periods and when they had the ball they were clinical. Naomh Eoin had chances and hit the woodwork on several occasions but just couldn’t put their chances away.

Pal had a great chance early on as an effort was hit into the ‘keeper who parried the ball away and it was received by Danny McMahon on the left but his effort was saved. There were early points for Nathan Walsh, Sean Reid and Aidan Fitzharris to put Palatine three points ahead early. Naomh Eoin went close but had an effort blocked. Some great teamwork saw Fitzharris play in Owen Fitzharris on the left who in turn put in a cross for Paddy Doyle to hit over. Naomh Eoin got on the scoresheet after Eoin Remond hit a free over from the right hand side. With 14 minutes gone, Palatine found the back of the net through Aidan Fitzharris. Further points were added through McMahon, Patrick Cranny and Owen Fitzharris. Doyle found the back of the net with four minutes to go until half-time with McMahon adding a point. Just before half-time, Doyle got a second goal. Naomh Eoin had an effort blocked but still managed to get a free over on the stroke of half-time, Redmond again hitting over. At half-time, it was 3-8 to 0-2.

Naomh Eoin came out fighting after the break and immediately hit an effort off the crossbar before Bill Roberts hit the post with his effort. Three minutes in, Redmond hit over another free but it was quickly cancelled out by a Doyle free. Owen Fitzharris hit a point over for Palatine with 15 minutes gone in the half. Bill Roberts pulled back a point. With five minutes to go, Ben Nolan hit the fourth goal for Palatine. Jack Richardson stepped up for Naomh Eoin and hit over a free from the right. At the death, Owen Fitzharris hit over a point for Palatine to cap off a great day for them.
