Naomh Bríd qualified for the intermediate hurling final when they proved too good for Burren Rangers at the penultimate stage on Saturday in Netwatch Cullen Park.
The eventual winners settled well and it showed with Mikey Bambrick (2), Aaron Amond and Jamie Doyle (2) all pointing at the O’Hanrahan end of the ground. On 14 minutes, Mark Sharrett finally got Burren on the scoresheet. The eventual winners hit back and Aaron Amond found the net after two Burren Rangers defenders collided. Dylan Townsend converted two Rangers frees but Naomh Bríd turned the screw to lead 1-10 to 0-4 at the interval.
On the change of ends, Naomh Bríd absorbed what was thrown at them while Aaron Amond was lively ending up the half with four points in the second half.
Burren keeper, Joe Waters, made two saves, one with his foot and the other with his hand, to deny Naomh Bríd. In the end the gap between the two sides never fully closed and the purple and whites advanced to where they were aiming for at the start of the campaign.
