Myshall men make history by reaching All-Ireland Junior Rounders Final 

Myshall GAA Rounders Club has reached another major milestone in its short history, with the Men’s team qualifying for the All-Ireland Junior Rounders Final for the first time.

The achievement is particularly significant given that Myshall Rounders was only established in 2023. What began with a single Ladies’ team has grown rapidly, and the club now fields three adult teams – Ladies, Men’s and Mixed – alongside a thriving juvenile section.

The Men’s team first entered the GAA Rounders Junior Championship in 2025 and made an immediate impact. After topping their group, they progressed directly to the All-Ireland semi-final, where they faced St Senan’s of Limerick. In an extremely close contest, Myshall were beaten by just one run by a St Senan’s side that went on to become All-Ireland champions.

That narrow defeat provided plenty of motivation heading into the 2026 season, with the team determined to build on the progress made during their first championship campaign.

Throughout this year, there has been a noticeable improvement in both individual performances and overall team play. The experience gained in 2025, together with continued training and a strong team spirit, has helped Myshall take another important step forward.

Their efforts have now been rewarded, with the Men’s team going one better than last year and securing their place in the 2026 All-Ireland Junior Final.

Reaching an All-Ireland final is a fantastic achievement for the players, coaches and everyone involved with Myshall GAA Rounders Club. It is also a reflection of the remarkable growth of rounders within the club over the past few years.

Despite the increasing success on the field, the team and club have remained true to the values that have been there from the beginning – enjoying the game, getting some exercise, improving a little with every training session and match, and not taking things too seriously along the way.

Those values have helped create a great atmosphere within the club and have played an important part in the Men’s team’s journey from entering the Junior Championship for the first time in 2025 to contesting an All-Ireland Final just one year later.

Whatever the outcome of the final, reaching this stage is already a proud moment for Myshall GAA Rounders Club and another exciting chapter in what has been a remarkable few years of growth.
