Éire Óg went on a scoring spree with Adam McCarron accounting for 3-6 of the winners total in this senior football championship fourth round game at Netwatch Cullen Park on Friday.
The Reds started off in scintillating fashion with Chris Blake knocking over a point and then running onto a pass from Ross Dunphy he touched the ball past the helpless Jack Rowan for the opening goal.
While the eventual winners were generally in control, Fenagh still had their moments. Padraig Hynes converted a two-point free and with just over 25 minutes gone Jack Treacy made space for himself on the right before shooting low and hard for an excellent goal.
Éire Óg responded well. Colm Hulton pointed and Adam McCarron availed of some Dunphy wizardry to score a second goal for the YI’s.

Trailing 2-10 to 1-3 at the interval Fenagh had a mountain to climb. All the more so when McCarron scored a third goal. The floodgates opened and for almost the remainder of the game, there was only one team in it. Ronan Quinlan, McCarron and Dunphy all registered three pointers and while Fenagh were left reeling, they still put a number of attacks together. Hynes ended up with seven points, which included a brace of two-pointers. Ben Collier also raised a Fenagh white flag.
Crumbs from the masters table perhaps?
