Sara Doyle scored the first ever two pointer by a Carlow player in today's win over Leitrim

There was a little slice of history today for Sara Doyle as Carlow came from behind to beat Leitrim and finish the group stages of the Lidl National League Division 4 with a perfect record of seven wins in seven games.

Carlow trailed by 0-7 to 0-1 at half time but came storming back into the game after the break. As well as goals from a Clíodhna Ní Shé penalty and Aibha Kiernan, Doyle also wrote her name into the history books as the first Carlow ladies footballer to score a two pointer as Carlow ran out 2-7 to 0-11 winners.

Ed Burke’s team had already qualified for the semi-finals after a win over Derry in the fifth round but kept their foot on the pedal and they added wins over Longford and Leitrim today to ensure they go into the knockout stages on the crest of a wave.
