Curran not worried about previous games against Wexford

Carlow were well beaten last time out against Wexford but that is not playing on the mind of Shane Curran as he names an unchanged team for the trip to the south east

The last time Carlow played Wexford in Chadwicks Wexford Park, the home side dished out a mother and father of a 4-19 to 0-8 hiding to the visitors. It was one of those days where everything the Model County tried to make happen worked while Carlow could do little right.

If it is something which is haunting the Carlow camp now, manager, Shane Curran, says he has not come across it.

“We haven’t really talked about it. It is not relevant. It is in the past. We are in the now. Hopefully, we are in a better place?” he said.

The Roscommon man did agree that possibly some may have memories of that day but hopes it will be used in a positive manner.

“Some of the players, I am sure, will be feeling the hurt from that. For me, it is not relevant. It is just something we have to improve upon,” he says.

Carlow have little injury worries at the moment.

“We pretty much have a clean bill of health. Ciaran Moran, there is a doubt about him but pretty good. We are in good shape,” says the manager who leads a side who are unbeaten after two games with a draw against Tipperary and a comprehensive away win in Dungarvan.

Curran has named the starting XV that beat Waterford for Saturday evening’s clash. There are a couple of changes among the subs where Ciaran Moran returns to the squad after missing the last game through injury, Stephen Reilly drops out. There is also a change to the back up goalkeeper with Stephen Scallan taking the place of Ciaran Cunningham.
