JJ KAVANAGH & SONS SENIOR HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP - ROUND 3

ST MULLINS 4-21 NAOMH BRÍD 1-12

Conor Kehoe scored 2-11 for St Mullins as they proved too good for Naomh Bríd in this third round senior hurling championship game on Friday in McGrath Park.

It was tit for tat early on but Naomh Bríd struck for a goal when their opponents defence failed to deal with a through ball and, at the second attempt, Aaron Amond found the net from close range.

St Mullins hit back and a goal a-piece from Colm Kavanagh and Paddy Boland late in the half saw them take a 2-9 to 1-6 lead into the second period.

From there the eventual winners remained in total control. Kehoe netted once more and as Naomh Bríd struggled to get back into the game Kehoe scored his second three-pointer. There was no way back for last year’s intermediate champions as St Mullins saw out the game without fuss.
