Carlow manager Joe Murphy has named a 29 man squad for Friday evening’s O’Byrne Shield final against Wicklow in SETU Carlow at 7.30pm.
Although the two teams will meet in the second round in Division 4 Allianz Football League in little over four weeks, Murphy has still named a strong team as Carlow go in search of their first piece of silverware since beating Wexford in the 2010 O’Byrne Shield final.
Johnny Furey returns between the posts while further out the field, there is also a return for Éire Óg forward Chris Blake.
Tinryland duo Paddy Regan and John Murphy, and Old Leighlin's Aaron Amond are among those those getting their first taste of action in 2026.
