Carlow GAA supporters urged to take to the fairways for annual Golf Classic

Club Carlow Golf Classic

GAA Golfers taking to the fairways in Carlow Club Carlow, Carlow’s GAA Supporters Club, are encouraging all GAA followers to take to the fairways and support the 2025 Club Carlow Golf Classic, which takes place at Carlow Golf Club on Friday May 2nd, with Dooley Motors as main Sponsor of this year’s event.

“Last year’s Golf Classic was a huge success with over 30 teams taking part, and we are delighted that Dooley Motors, are returning as title sponsor” explained David Walsh, Chairman of Club Carlow. “We are thrilled that the Golf Classic takes place in Carlow Golf Club, given the event has been very well supported and thoroughly enjoyed by all participants” he added.

Rowena Dooley, of Dooley Motors, said they were “delighted to be returning as title sponsor of the Golf Classic”, and continued “It’s a further opportunity for Dooley Motors to be associated with the GAA in Co. Carlow and mark the significant contribution the GAA makes within the County. One example of that is the record participation levels of the next generation of GAA stars playing in Cúl Camps over the summer months”.

Derek Conry, of the Organising Committee said “we’ve moved back to the Friday of the May Bank Holiday weekend, and we’ve also retained the very successful format of the competition from last year, a Shotgun Team of 4 Scramble. This created a great Clubhouse atmosphere before and after the Golf event”.

David Walsh, continued “there has been a huge interest from last year’s competitors to participate again, and this year we have 2 Shotgun Starts, at 9.00am and 2.00pm allowing us to accommodate a greater number of players”, and he was hopeful “that GAA clubs, supporters and the business community throughout the County would support the event through a number of options – Enter a Team (€300), Tee sponsorship (€100 each) or Green sponsorship (€50 each), which are fundamental to the success of the event”.
