The 31st Annual Carlow GAA Sports Star awards will return this weekend they take place in the Talbot Hotel at 7.30pm.

It’s the first time that the full awards night has been held since before Covid and the response has been superb and is already sold out with 285 people set to attend.

What makes this event so special is that is the clubs who nominated and pick the winners in each category, Chairman of the Carlow GAA Sports Star awards Bernard Horohan said he has been ‘overwhelmed’ by the demand for tickets.

“We’re absolutely overwhelmed with the response from the public for the event,” he said.

“As chairman of the GAA Sports Star awards I’d like to congratulate all our winners, and also the committee for all their hard work over the last few weeks in putting this event together.

“We are really looking forward to it and with the line up we have I think it’s going to be a fantastic event.

Special guest on the night is the legendary Kerry footballer Jack O’Shea, winner of seven All-Irelands and six All-Stars.
