Since 2022, Carlow GAA and UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Centre) have enjoyed a very beneficial partnership which has resulted in Carlow GAA becoming a priority Health Partner of UPMC.
This package not only gives Carlow GAA players fast track access to required services such as diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation, but also serves to reduce the overall medical costs to Carlow GAA whilst offering access to world class sports medicine, sports science and orthopedic services.
The UPMC Carlow Medical Outreach Centre in Shamrock Plaza, Carlow, is supported by UPMC Aut Even, Clane & Whitfield hospitals and UPMC's International Sports Medicine Clinics in Santry and WIT Arena, Waterford.
As an extension of their ongoing partnership, Carlow GAA will continue to have UPMC as the official shirt sleeve sponsor of their matchday jersey and the initials UPMC are now displayed on the sleeves of both the traditional “home” and “alternative” white Carlow jersey.
Speaking at the renewal of the sleeve sponsorship, Carlow Chairperson, Jim Bolger, said: “I am delighted to renew our relationship with UPMC through this sleeve sponsorship and I look forward to continuing to work with UPMC in the vital areas of injury diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation which are so important to the welfare of our players"
