All 49 motions for change passed at GAA Special Congress

The game of Gaelic Football will look very different indeed during 2025 after all 49 motions were passed this morning at Special Congress meeting in Croke Park.

The motions were broken down in to 18 voting categories and all passed by a resounding majority.

It means that the seven core rule enhancements recommended by the FRC, chaired by Jim Gavin, will come into effect from 1 January 2025.

The rule changes will be adopted on a temporary basis for one year but Central Council shall be entitled to rescind or amend any rule changes.

"This has given a resounding mandate for improvements in Gaelic Football," said GAA President Jarlath Burns.
