AIMIE NOLAN - Camogie

After a long spell where injury was a constant companion, this year’s camogie award winner came back in style. They didn’t talk that much about a possible 25 in a row in Myshall in 2024 but surely it had to be on their minds.
The reigning champions came out of a tough group stage and faced Mount Leinster Rangers in the semi-final.
It was a battle of wills with Myshall prevailing by 1-10 to 0-10. Aimie scored 1-4 of the winner’s total that day as she took the game by the scruff of the neck when defeat loomed.

It was the same in the final against Naomh Bríd. She put in a big shift that day scoring 1-2 out of the eventual winner’s total of 2-8. This was a clear message that Myshall are continuing to produce quality camogie players.
Earlier in the year, she helped SETU Carlow reach the Purcell Cup final. Carlow got past UCC in the semi-final after a titanic battle and then faced University of Galway met inside the Air Dome at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence. SETU Carlow ended the game well beaten but Aimie showed she has the quality to mix it a high level.
Aimie did play with the county team in 2024 but it was fleeting. She did however, grab a goal in Carlow’s most important game of the season when they beat Cavan to retain their Division 3 status for 2025. No doubt, she has an ambition to bring her club prowess into the county scene. That can only be good for club and county.
