Thefts and damage to graves at cemetery

St Mary's Cemetery, Carlow
CARLOVIANS are afraid to visit St Mary’s Cemetery and some are looking at other locations to have their loved ones buried.
That claim was made at a recent meeting of Carlow Municipal District following reports of anti-social behaviour, including thefts and damage to graves.
The meeting heard that members of the public are now afraid to visit the cemetery and that they are looking at other locations to be buried with regard to themselves and loved ones for the future, such is their concern.
Mayor cllr Fintan Phelan said the serious matter would be discussed at a forthcoming committee meeting.
