A LOCAL football club has taken to social media to highlight a recent act of vandalism at its grounds.

In a Facebook post, Tullow’s Parkville United AFC shared an image of obscene graffiti on the club grounds.

The post read: ‘The night before we are due to start our FAI Summer Soccer camp, this is what we find on our front door. We are due to have 80 young boys and girls here tomorrow morning at 10am.

'Would you like your child to be meeting this at the front door?’

It went on to say that the club secretary had removed several teenagers from the property, who ‘were in the process of building a camp on our grounds’.

Disgusting graffiti

The post stated that in addition to the disgusting graffiti, the teenagers had damaged and broken trees and absconded when they were confronted by the club secretary.

A follow-up post by Parkville United AFC in a bid ‘to acknowledge the positive just as much as we highlight the negative’ went on to pay tribute to the community response and to thank parents who had contacted the club in relation to the matter.
