TAOISEACH Simon Harris made a surprise visit to this year’s Tullow Agricultural Show on Sunday when he officially opened the event in the summer sunshine.
The leader of the country looked relaxed and happy as he wandered around the show grounds after completing his official duty.
He spent up to three hours at the event, meeting punters, chatting to competitors and generally soaking up the atmosphere at the Coppenagh showgrounds.
“We found out at the last minute that he was available to come to Tullow. It was the first time that a taoiseach opened the show and it did bring a buzz around the place. It was lovely to have him here and he appeared to be very happy to be here, too,” said Brian Hawkins, PRO of the Tullow Show committee.
