MAGICAL and enthralling, students at Carlow’s Ballet Barn presented an extraordinary display of talent last week, as the school brought its wonderful show to the George Bernard Shaw Theatre at Visual.

featured six performances over three days, as students from tiny beginners to pre-professionals showcased a stunning array of dance from ballet and modern to theatre and contemporary.

The talent, skill and ability of the Ballet Barn students was mesmerising, with stunning choreography combining with amazing costumes, music, graphics and sets in this memorable show. Audiences were transfixed as the students brought their dedicated passion and creative vision to the stage, rehearsing for months to ensure their high standard was evident to all.

Led by Aedeen O’Hagan, the teaching team at the Ballet Barn Aedeen O’Hagan School of Ballet also includes Adele Mealey, Meadhbh O’Sullivan, Ciara Peaches McDermott and Jodie Coleman, who all worked tirelessly to create imaginative and emotive choreography that brought out the very best in their students.

Following the final performance, Aedeen thanked all who made the show possible, including past pupils, senior students and parents who helped out backstage, their sponsors and those who helped with creating the programme, the photography, lighting, sound and set design.

There was also a special mention for Debbie Kelly, a huge supporter of the Ballet Barn, also there for everyone at show and exam time to help in whatever way she can, from creating costumes to invaluable support or that word of advice.

The dance school located at Kilmeaney, Carlow offers classes in ballet, modern theatre dance and contemporary from ages three-and-a-half upwards, with adult classes also available.
