Stradbally gears up for steam rally

The 60th annual National Steam Rally on Saturday and Sunday, 3 and 4 August

STRADBALLY is gearing up to welcome thousands of steam engine enthusiasts for the 60th annual National Steam Rally on Saturday and Sunday, 3 and 4 August.

The Bank Holiday weekend event promises thrilling attractions such as vintage displays, live entertainment and family-friendly activities.

The highlight of this year’s rally will be the gathering of over 60 full-sized steam engines, the largest assembly of such engines ever in Ireland, and promises to be a spectacular display of engineering marvels.

There will also be numerous miniature steam engines.

The celebrations begin on Saturday with a special 60th anniversary street party in the Square from 5pm to 7pm. The hugely anticipated annual steam and vintage parade featuring a procession of restored steam engines, vintage engines, tractors, lorries and cars and lots more will rumble through the town from 7.15pm.
