ST MULLINS GAA Club recently held a successful 24-hour walkathon involving players and members from the ladies’, juvenile and senior clubs.

This collaborative event aimed to raise funds for the development of a new pitch, a project that has garnered widespread community support. In the lead-up to the event, teams were actively fundraising with participants and worked collectively towards a €1,000 target.

Their efforts, alongside those of other teams, were instrumental in driving the fundraising initiative. The walkathon also received significant backing from local businesses, reflecting the community's commitment to enhancing facilities in St Mullins.

Club secretary Michael Kehoe said: "This support of local business and the wider community has been excellent. We greatly appreciate the efforts that people have gone to, to support our fundraising event. We are confident that our fundraising target will be reached and we look forward to beginning the next phase of work on our new pitch."

The funds raised are earmarked for the ongoing development of the GAA grounds, aiming to benefit all club members and the broader community.

Throughout the event, participants and supporters were encouraged to stay updated on social media, which provided real-time news and information.

The success of the walkathon underscores the strong community spirit in St Mullins and the collective dedication to advancing the infrastructure of the club.
