Social Democrats candidate holds Carlow launch

Social Democrats candidate Patricia Stephenson
THE Social Democrats has officially selected its general election hopeful for Carlow and Kilkenny. Patricia Stephenson (32) was chosen at the party’s convention recently in the Avalon House Hotel, Castlecomer.
A native of Belfast, Ms Stephenson has been living between Castlecomer and Old Leighlin for a number of years. She has worked in the international development and aid sector in Africa, in locations such as Kenya and Sudan, and hopes to bring that experience into this campaign. “Working with communities across the world, listening to their needs and working with them on solutions, has been the basis of my work. I can’t wait to take that experience into this campaign,” said Patricia. Patricia spoke about the key issues she wants to campaign on in the upcoming election, specifically housing, health, transport and more investment in local communities, which communities themselves will have the power to make decisions on.
“I want to listen to the voices of the people of Carlow Kilkenny and fight for a new, fresh perspective. I want to offer an alternative voice for the people of this constituency,” said Patricia. Patricia will hold a Carlow launch of her campaign tonight, 15 October at 7pm in the Neighbourhood Espresso, Barrack Street.
