Road run fundraiser for lifesaving group

THE recent mid-Carlow first responders road run saw a great turnout by the local community, with support from Ballon GAA.

The road/tractor run was organised by local volunteers and supporters on Sunday 30 March, starting at Ballon GFC grounds.

All proceeds from the fundraiser will fund the group of trained local volunteers in their lifesaving service to the communities of Ballon, Rathoe, Ardattin, Myshall and surrounding areas.

The mid-Carlow first responders assist the National Ambulance Service in these communities in the event of a stroke, heart attack, choking incident or cardiac/respiratory arrest.

The group also supplies defibrillators in the local community where funds allow.
