AN EXCITING new era was unveiled for a popular Baltinglass pharmacy last week when it was transformed from Lloyd’s Pharmacy to McCabe’s Pharmacy.
The honour of launching the rebrand of McCabe’s Pharmacy, Baltinglass fell to MEP Cynthia Ní Mhurchú, who duly cut the ribbon alongside Sharon McCabe, chief executive of McCabe’s Pharmacy.
“The pharmacy was previously owned by Ann McDaid and was Gorry’s Pharmacy, then it became Lloyd’s Pharmacy and now McCabe’s Pharmacy,” explained Aisling Long Keating, the pharmacy’s general manager.

McCabe’s is owned by PHX Ireland, part of the German-based Phoenix Group, a European-wide pharmaceutical wholesaler and retailer. The group also owns United Drug, which is one of Ireland’s largest pharmaceutical distribution companies.
McCabe’s Pharmacy says it is dedicated to delivering exceptional healthcare services to communities across the country.
“The rebrand means now that we have greater access to stock and also all McCabe’s wholesale and services are available to us under the one umbrella,” said Aisling.
“We have nine staff including myself,” said Aisling, who added her thanks to both Cynthia and Sharon for attending the launch of their rebrand.
