Man (30s) arrested after death of man (40s) in Leitrim

A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with the death of another man in Co Leitrim on Thursday.
The man, who was aged in his 40s, was found unresponsive following reports of an incident at a home in Arderry shortly after 9pm last night.
He was treated at the scene by emergency services personnel but was pronounced dead a short time later.
A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene and is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a garda station in Co Leitrim.
Gardaí are investigating all circumstances around the man's death, a statement said.
A senior investigating officer has been appointed, and the local coroner and the Office of the State Pathologist have been notified.
The man's body remains at the scene, which is preserved for examination by the Garda Technical Bureau.
Investigations are ongoing, gardaí said.
