The popular event began with a parade through the town on Saturday evening, leaving the Woodford Dolmen Hotel and setting off for the show’s venue at the historic Duckett’s Grove. The gleaming motors certainly turned heads as they paraded through the town – from classic cars to convertibles, motorbikes to one-off motors.

The following morning it was time to showcase a fantastic display of vehicles, with all decades, makes and styles represented. The event was very well run, with lots of volunteers from the club ensuring a very smooth running and safe show.

For the visitor there was lots to see, with Duckett's Grove the perfect backdrop to all of the eye-catching cars.

“It was a great day, we couldn’t take any more cars, we were full to the neck,” said PJ Lawlor, chairman of Carlow Vintage and Classic Motor Club.

“We have two shows a year and that was our 16th show in Duckett’s Grove,” he added.

As well as a great opportunity for all the family to enjoy a marvellous display of vintage and classic cars and tractors, there was also lots more to enjoy on the day with music by Alastair Fingleton, dancing with Declan Flanagan, autojumble, kiddies’ rides, arts and crafts and food stalls. A absolutely super day was enjoyed by the many hundreds who attended.

The weather was also kind to Carlow Vintage and Classic Motor Club with sunshine all day and not a single cloud in sight, showing off the cars at their very best!
