A LEARNER driver doing more than 200kph with three young passengers on board was arrested by gardaí this weekend.
Gardaí said today that all four people in the car, including the driver, are aged in their late teens.
The driver was arrested and the car was seized, after it overtook an unmarked garda car.
The incident happened on the M9 motorway in Killcullen, Co Kildare, when the Naas Roads Policing Unit was on covert patrol.
After a motorist zoomed past doing in excess of 200kph, gardaí gave chase and pulled in the car.
The young driver was arrested, while the car was impounded and was towed away from the scene.
Posting a photo (above) on the An Garda Síochána Kildare social media platforms today, gardaí said the driver held a learner permit and all four people in the car are in their late teens.
They confirmed that the driver was arrested and court proceedings will follow.
